13 - Chocolate Heaven: What is Valentine's day without CHOCOLATE!??? Whip up your favorite chocolate recipe or pick up your favorite chocolate treat at the store. Make sure there is enough for about 40 people. You can keep the servings small. We will be putting together goody bags for the nursery workers too!

Fire Station Tour!

Rebelbase Student Ministry at The Woodlands Methodist Church is holding their Annual Golf Tournament and Auction in April. The money raised benefits the student missions. Mom2Mom is
putting together a basket for the silent auction. Our theme is "baby" and it will be gender-neutral. We already have a basket, but we need brand-new items to fill it up!

Here is a list of ideas: clothes, onesies, bibs, pacifiers, bottles, board books, diapers, wipes, small toys, small blankets, baby lotions/shampoos, and bath toys. Please email any items you plan to bring to this email address to make sure we don't have too many of one item.

You can bring the items to the following meetings: Jan. 31st, Feb. 7th and Feb. 14th. Or, you can email Jen Seeger at this email address to find another time to drop off your item(s). The deadline to turn in items is Monday, February 14th.

Silent Auction and Luncheon!

Are your closets too full? Are you tired of stepping on toys? Did your Aunt Bessie give you yet another pair of fuzzy slippers? Do you need to get rid of the old to bring in the new? Do you just need to de-clutter?!?

Then this event is for YOU!

The Mom2Mom Annual Silent Auction and Luncheon
Monday, January 10th, in Asbury Hall.

Please come help us kick off the New Year, and enjoy our annual silent auction and catered luncheon on Monday, January 10th! Join your Mom2Mom friends as we bid on each other’s gently-used, "unwanted" items, and help raise money for Mom2Mom activities and events this coming year. Clean out your closets, or pack up those duplicate Christmas gifts you want to donate (books, crafts, toys, household items, etc.) to sell at our annual fundraiser. All proceeds will go to Mom2Mom.

We will also be having a yummy luncheon following the auction around 11am. The cost for the luncheon is $8 per person, and is due to Shannon Logan no later than Wednesday, January 5th. You can bring your cash or check (made out to TWUMC) to the Mom2Mom playdate at Forestgate Park on Monday, January 3rd, or mail to Shannon at 13 Cokeberry Street, The Woodlands, TX 77380. The luncheon is optional, you can still attend the auction without lunch if you prefer!

There will be games, crafts, treats and a costume parade! Children (and moms, too) are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and march in our costume parade at 10:30am. Family friendly (not scary) costumes only, please.

We will have a table set-up to decorate treat bags with stickers, markers and other supplies. You are more than welcome to bring a mini pumpkin for your children to decorate, too.

September Social!!!

Hello everyone! It's that time of year! We are having our annual September Social on September 13th from 9:15 - Noon in Asbury Hall. September Social is a wonderful opportunity to encourage our friends and families whom we think would benefit from our group. Along with fun activities and fellowship, lunch will be served. The cost is $7.00 for members and complimentary for guests! Please feel free to pass along this email and the attached flyer to those you think would be interested. We are also using the September Social as an outreach opportunity. Our local Food Banks are in desperate need as revealed on local news reports. Please help those in need and simply bring canned food or boxed dinners to the September Social and we will take them to the local Food Bank. Also as stated in previous emails we are looking for donations of lightly used clothing/items for the Jones family. If you plan to bring them tomorrow Aug 30th...great! But we will also be accepting them at the Social. If you would like their needs re-emailed to you, please let me know. We appreciate your support SO much!

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying this rather WARM Memorial Day weekend! Below is the June calendar. Summer is a great time to bring a friend...we can get overwhelmed having our kids off of school so come relax (in air conditioning!!!) with a great group of women while your kids are being well cared for in the nursery. We have a schedule change for February...which is just around the corner!!!

Sarah Purcell's talk on Intimate Issues has been moved to February 8.

That means our Chocolate Heaven Party will be this coming Monday, February 1st! Please bring a yummy store-bought or homemade chocolate item. We will be sharing with the group, as well as with the women who watch our children in Noah's Nook, so be generous! We will also be having a round table discussion on Resolutions for the New Year, which should be humorous as we consume copious amounts of chocolate!

We will be having a luncheon on Monday, January 11th. The cost is $7 and includes tri-color tortellini with marinara, grilled chicken, garden salad, roll and cookies.There will also be a silent auction. This is a fundraiser for our group and a great way for you to clean out your house and get new things! Please bring household items, unwanted Christmas presents, books, whatever you are wanting to donate that someone else might want. Proceeds from the sales help fund our group activities.

is a free seminar for parents wanting to learn more about the world of video games. Guest speaker Adam Spore is a youth minister who travels around the country giving seminars on video games and gaming units. He will introduce you to the video game rating system, how to screen games for their content, and teach you the pros and cons of video game consoles available on the market. The event is Nov. 9th at 9:30 am in Asbury Hall (main building). No registration is required!

Need to clip coupons or just chat about your favorite TV show? Come to Coffee Klatch on Monday September 28th for 3 hours of child free time. We are looking forward to seeing you.

Additionally we have 3 Cabinet positions open....see the note below...

We have a few cabinet positions available if you are interested. Cabinet meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month from 9:15-noon. Childcare is provided.
Here are the available positions and their job descriptions:

Hospitality: need 2 people
* coordinates refreshments and snacks for monthly meetings & Coffee Klatch (have a sign up sheet at meetings); sets out coffee and ice water
* recognizes church nursery staff (x3/yr - May, August & December) with thank you gifts (ideas: pizza lunch, chocolate, money tree, potluck lunch provided by member volunteers).
* Attends monthly cabinet meetings

Secretary: need 1 person
* Attends monthly cabinet meetings
* Takes notes/minutes from the monthly cabinet meetings
* Email the minutes to the cabinet members within a couple days
* Update Mom2Mom newsletter (starts in January)

Women's Ministry Fall Showcase
August 30th - 6:30 - 8:30
Our annual Fall Showcase for Women’s Ministry is coming up Sunday, August 30th from 6:30 – 8:30pm. Browse convention-style booths to see what is available to the women of the church, sign up to serve or volunteer, plug into Bible studies or fellowship groups, register online, fellowship and meet other women, win door prizes and raffles, and hear Jessica speak on the topic “With Friends Like These…”. We will also be initiating several new programs and opportunities for fellowship at the Showcase. So, save the date and plan to attend this amazing opportunity to just be with the girls and see what the coming year has in store for you.
